1.   NAME OF THE DEPARTMENT: Dietetics department.

2.   INTRODUCTION: the hospital dietary service starting catering all indoor patients from 15/06/87. Hospital kitchen follows DGHS Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi, and Diet scale for Normal Diet, Semi solid diet and liquid diet for both adult and children.

The Dietetics Department responsible for planning, organizing and directing all phases of the dietetics operation which includes:

·         Menu Planning.

·         Food preparation and Service.

·         Budget Estimates.

·         Cost control and administrative record keeping.

·         Patient therapy and education.

·         Analysis and appraisal of personnel requirement.

·         Safety and sanitation program.

3. SERVICES PROVIDED:

·         Hospital Kitchen follows centralized system of diet distribution cater to more than 1000 patients to various wards i.e. more than 32 and its related work. Daily Six meals serves to patients started from early morning tea: Breakfast: Lunch: Evening Tea: Evening Milk: Dinner.

·         Various diets like Normal Diet/Semi solid Diet/Liquid Diet/High Protein Diet/High Carbohydrate Diet/Salt Restricted Diet/Diabetic Diet/Renal Diet, etc and Various Therapeutic Liquid Diets provided to indoor patients.

·         Therapeutic meals are also served, specialized therapeutic liquid feed to patients as per the prescription. All therapeutic trays are lay down in Kitchen for patients and check by Dietician then serve to the patients in wards.

·         All IPD and OPD diet counseling.
