The delegation submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary containing their demands. The Chief Minister initiated a point-wise discussion on all the demands.

The first demand of the delegation was to enhance the quality of their fire fighting gears. The Chief Minister directed the officers to get the best and world class gears for the employees of Delhi Fire Services (DFS). He said that it was utmost important for their safety and thus the quality should be the best and should not compromised at any cost. He asked the Director of DFS to send a proposal on the same at the earliest.

Ensuring the employees of fulfilling their demands for payment for the extra hours they were putting in, the Chief Minister said that the demand would be met. “Please look into the matter and get them the extra money paid for the extra hour as per the rules of the government. They must be paid for the hours they work more than the stipulated shifts,” Chief Minister told the officials.

Reacting on another point of demand of the delegation for proper training, Shri Kejriwal asked the officers responsible that the employees of the DFS be sent for the best training at the best centres required. He said that the demanded training must start from March and asked the concerned officers to ensure the same.

The Chief Minister also asked the Director Fire Services to ensure that the employees are trained to use the equipments procured from foreign countries at the earliest. Shri Kejriwal also asked the officers to examine the demand of Special Vehicle Allowance hike and get back to him.

On the shortage of staff, the Chief Minister asked the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and Director Fire to fasten the recruitment process so that the extra burden on the staff is taken away. He asked them to ensure recruitments are done as soon as possible.

Chief Minister also sorted out the demand of pay fixation and suggested that the CAT order be implemented for pay fixation. The employees were satisfied with the suggestion of the CM on pay fixation. An extra pay of 10% for the trainers of Fire Services was also approved by the Chief Minister.

Apart from it, the Chief Minister met most of the demands of the delegation of Fire Service association and ensured them that he will take care of their welfare in future too.

He also asked the Director Fire Services to meet the association once every month and send the copy of the minutes of the meeting to the Chief Minister.
