  • Delhi Government lauded for “land-pooling” policy, will boost rural development, say villagers
New Delhi, May 22, 2017: The land-pooling policy (LPP) announced by the Delhi government has been welcomed by residents of 89 villages which have now been declared as urban areas in order to facilitate development of infrastructure projects in these localities.
A delegation of villagers met with Delhi Chief Minister Mr Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Mr Manish Sisodia to express their appreciation of the AAP Government’s policy.
Harichand Gahlot, president of the National Kisan Sanjha Manch, praised the new policy and said that it would boost development of rural areas in the capital.
Members of the delegation apprised the Chief Minister about problems they faced and sought his intervention.

They also thanked Mr Kejriwal for appointing Mr. Kailash Gahlot, who represents the rural Najafgarh constituency, as Minister for Transport in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. Outer Delhi MLAs Mr. Naresh Balyan and Mr. Gulab Singh were also present on the occasion.

After the approval of the LPP for the 89 villages, the Delhi government won’t need to buy land from the DDA for developing facilities such as electrical sub-stations, stadiums, industrial areas, old-age homes, hostels, schools, etc.
