  • Delhi government intervenes to resolve Ola/Uber drivers & managements differences amicably

Following directions from the Transport Minister Mr Satyendar Jain, department officials on Thursday convened a meeting between the Ola/Uber drivers and representatives of these companies, leading to an amicable settlement between the two sides.

The meeting was held at the residence of Mr Jain after the Sarvodaya Drivers Association and large number of drivers complained to the Minister about the alleged non-hearing of their issues by Ola/Uber despite the Hon’ble High Court orders.

Delhi government provided a platform where representatives of Ola/Uber and drivers associations could talk across the table.

The meeting concluded after over four hours of discussion in an amicable atmosphere. The charter of demand was presented to Ola/Uber officials. The companies assured them to work on their demands shortly and will give their assurance to the Hon’ble High Court on 28thFebruary. The companies had also invited the drivers to their office to discuss and resolve the issues peacefully.

Delhi Government has assured the driver associations about welfare of drivers particularly those harassed without having been given an opportunity to be heard by such companies particularly in cases of vague complaints.

Delhi Government had expressed the sympathetic concern to waive toll charges at Borders in case of these taxis similar to black & white taxies and autos to such taxi regime.
